Today it was 72 degrees in Minneapolis, heavenly! August experienced grass for the first time (that he can remember) and it was HILARIOUS. He had no idea what the heck to think of it and it was so entertaining to watch. He didn't BUDGE while he was sitting there. I KINDA wanted him to explore around because that would be so fun to see, but at the same time-if he wants to sit there and not move, that's fine too! Because someday he'll want to fly all over the yard and while I'm chasing him, I'll wish he would just sit still for once! ;)

Miss me?
It's been so long since I've had a chance to blog! Things have been kinda crazy around here. I was in Illinois visiting family for a week and half and had a great time. I'm always so sad to leave my family, but also happy to get back to the swing of things here in MN. I was originally going to be in Illinois for a week (while J was at a conference), but left early to visit my grandpa (poppy) who had a heart attack.
My siblings and I have been so blessed by being raised in the same town as both sets of grandparents, it gave us such special relationships with them and the best memories. I cherished every moment I had with Poppy while home and loved watching him light up when I'd bring August around. He's 92 years old and I'm so thankful that we've been able to enjoy him for so long. He's currently still in the hospital and we are hoping he will be able to go to an assistant living home in a few days. He lived at home alone up until then, he's pretty incredible :)
August has learned his first "trick" and I HAD to get it in video, so here it is-you might melt into a puddle because it's SO cute :)
Where's mama?
But seriously, this is the first time he's been able to "give back" and show his love for us- it's the best feeling in the world!

Toys, who needs them?
It's so funny with all the toys in the house, babies seem to always want what they SHOULDN'T have. How do they pick up on this so quickly? How are they more fun than all the bright toys and the fun sounds they make? Forget all of that stuff, babies want cell phones, computer chargers, cameras, etc. It's so funny! Also slightly annoying at times ;). We've been giving him giant spoons from the kitchen and measuring cups, he loves it! They aren't his usual toys which he loves and it's safe which we love.
I couldn't resist putting up a diaper picture

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Woohoo! It finally feels like spring is on the horizon! The end of winter is near! We've gotten out on so many walks this week and the fresh air feels so good! I swear, the longer days and vitamin D give me more energy! We went out on a little family walk to the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, we love walking by the river. We were SO excited to take August here for the first time. Especially in the stage he's at, he loves to take all the sights/sounds in.
I HAD to bring my camera along, I'm snapping pictures of Jamin and August any chance I can get. Just a side note, I could watch those two together 24/7. They LOVE one another and are each others number one fan. Ever day when Jamin walks in the door from work, August starts shaking because he's SO excited that his papa is home-it melts me every time. For some reason (which drives me NUTS) August will laugh hysterically at what Jamin does and when I do the SAME thing, he just gives me a stone face. I'm not kidding! We will take turns doing the same thing and August will only laugh at Jamin! It's crazy.
ANYWAY.
This weather has me so excited to share other (outdoor) areas of the Twin Cities with A.
Here are some pictures :)

HUMMUS
I LOVE HUMMUS!
It's like I can't escape it! I think the rest of the United States is catching on too because it's EVERYWHERE! The best part is it's healthy for you, music to your ears right? Chickpeas (the main ingredient) are rich in fiber and protein, they also contain vitamins and minerals. I love hummus with veggies, on crackers, pita bread, some of my friends add it to their sandwhiches but I haven't tried that yet. Any other tastey suggestions out there?
There are so many different flavors out there, I'd have to say my tops would be: black bean chipotle, jalapeno, and the classic roasted red pepper.
Deena's Gourtmet Hummus has to be a favorite brand of mine, Deena's has the black bean chipotle hummus which is INCREDIBLE. I'm not kidding I couldn't sleep the other night and it was because I was thinking about how tastey the black bean hummus is! That's disturbing. It's being offered at more and more Co-ops/stores throughout the Twin Cities so check our the site and see if their is some by you!

Holy Land Deli is another great place to get hummus! They have Jalapeno Hummus that I love and a Guacamole Hummus that my hub loves. I love Holy Land because it's up the street from where we live in Northeast Minneapolis and this little mom and pop shop is beginning to be known nationwide. Target just started selling their hummus and I love seeing it there when I grocery shop-it actually makes me kinda proud.
Check out Target for Holy Land Hummus or The Holy Land Deli in Northeast Minneapolis!

Has anyone tried making their own hummus? I will one of these days. That way I can just whip some up when I run out and not have to make a special trip out ;).
I'm just DREADING the cost of buying a food processor! I should look into Craiglist....anyway, hope you all have a great Friday night!
(I have to sneak a picture in, these two sure love each other!)

Growin Like A Weed
I still can't believe how much my itty bitty baby has grown, it's just making me love the cuddle time we have and the moments where I can just hold him. He is at such a fun stage now though, I feel like I can see the world in a whole new light when he's around. So many sights, sounds, and smells, it's like I get to experience it for the first time again-what a joy!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go peak in on him while he sleeps-it's precious!
