It's so funny with all the toys in the house, babies seem to always want what they SHOULDN'T have. How do they pick up on this so quickly? How are they more fun than all the bright toys and the fun sounds they make? Forget all of that stuff, babies want cell phones, computer chargers, cameras, etc. It's so funny! Also slightly annoying at times ;). We've been giving him giant spoons from the kitchen and measuring cups, he loves it! They aren't his usual toys which he loves and it's safe which we love.
I couldn't resist putting up a diaper picture

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Woohoo! It finally feels like spring is on the horizon! The end of winter is near! We've gotten out on so many walks this week and the fresh air feels so good! I swear, the longer days and vitamin D give me more energy! We went out on a little family walk to the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, we love walking by the river. We were SO excited to take August here for the first time. Especially in the stage he's at, he loves to take all the sights/sounds in.
I HAD to bring my camera along, I'm snapping pictures of Jamin and August any chance I can get. Just a side note, I could watch those two together 24/7. They LOVE one another and are each others number one fan. Ever day when Jamin walks in the door from work, August starts shaking because he's SO excited that his papa is home-it melts me every time. For some reason (which drives me NUTS) August will laugh hysterically at what Jamin does and when I do the SAME thing, he just gives me a stone face. I'm not kidding! We will take turns doing the same thing and August will only laugh at Jamin! It's crazy.
ANYWAY.
This weather has me so excited to share other (outdoor) areas of the Twin Cities with A.
Here are some pictures :)

HUMMUS
I LOVE HUMMUS!
It's like I can't escape it! I think the rest of the United States is catching on too because it's EVERYWHERE! The best part is it's healthy for you, music to your ears right? Chickpeas (the main ingredient) are rich in fiber and protein, they also contain vitamins and minerals. I love hummus with veggies, on crackers, pita bread, some of my friends add it to their sandwhiches but I haven't tried that yet. Any other tastey suggestions out there?
There are so many different flavors out there, I'd have to say my tops would be: black bean chipotle, jalapeno, and the classic roasted red pepper.
Deena's Gourtmet Hummus has to be a favorite brand of mine, Deena's has the black bean chipotle hummus which is INCREDIBLE. I'm not kidding I couldn't sleep the other night and it was because I was thinking about how tastey the black bean hummus is! That's disturbing. It's being offered at more and more Co-ops/stores throughout the Twin Cities so check our the site and see if their is some by you!
Deena's Gourtmet Hummus
Holy Land Deli is another great place to get hummus! They have Jalapeno Hummus that I love and a Guacamole Hummus that my hub loves. I love Holy Land because it's up the street from where we live in Northeast Minneapolis and this little mom and pop shop is beginning to be known nationwide. Target just started selling their hummus and I love seeing it there when I grocery shop-it actually makes me kinda proud.
Check out Target for Holy Land Hummus or The Holy Land Deli in Northeast Minneapolis!

Has anyone tried making their own hummus? I will one of these days. That way I can just whip some up when I run out and not have to make a special trip out ;).
I'm just DREADING the cost of buying a food processor! I should look into Craiglist....anyway, hope you all have a great Friday night!
(I have to sneak a picture in, these two sure love each other!)

Growin Like A Weed
I still can't believe how much my itty bitty baby has grown, it's just making me love the cuddle time we have and the moments where I can just hold him. He is at such a fun stage now though, I feel like I can see the world in a whole new light when he's around. So many sights, sounds, and smells, it's like I get to experience it for the first time again-what a joy!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go peak in on him while he sleeps-it's precious!

7 Months
Stop.The.Madness! Seriously? Is my baby really closer to 1 year than he is to being a newborn? Where has the time gone?
There's a big difference between now and six months, it's crazy! He's movin' and groovin' all around now and is quite determined to do what he wants. Where did this little will come from? Can't he be content snuggling his mama all day long? Sheesh. I will say that it's so fun to watch him explore! There are a lot of sights to take in around here, I'd love to see the world through his little eyes. It's so fun to watch him pick up something, hold it in his chubby hand and very intensely study it. Quite hilarious actually.
It was hard to take pictures too, apparently there is way too much excitement in life and sitting for two seconds is just WAY too long ;)
Some of his favorite things are:
His papa (of course!)
Looking out the window and watching cars pass
Bath time
His "Mr. Brown Can MOO!" book
Trying to squirm out of my arms because he has better things to do
Any new/weird sound Jame can come up with
All things Clive
Dislikes:
Diaper changing, it's becoming a battle!
Peas/green beans
Being left behind in a room
Here are some pictures of our little tornado...
I love his little sausage fingers!
And I love his little feet in his pj's (which he lives in)
Apparently I'm not very exciting
Did I mention he LOVES his little trucks? I think he noticed them overnight because today was the best day of his life when he saw them. It was kind of sad watching him play with trucks because babies don't play with trucks. So my little guy is officially out of the infant stage, I think. Don't get me wrong, I think they are babies through the first year, he's just not a BABY baby if you know what I mean. It was so fun to watch him play around with them, it actually made me REALLY proud for some reason. I'm excited to see what the Lord has for him and so humbled that we get the honor of guiding him along the way.

Who doesn't want to see flowers in the middle of winter?
Today we had our first real taste of spring! It was AMAZING! We went to the Conservatory in como zoo and it was a slice of HEAVEN. They have a rain forest area that is warm and humid and smells like you are in one (imagine that)! August LOVED looking around at the birds and all the green plants, it was so much fun to watch his reaction. They also have the "sunken garden" which is filled with the most beautiful flowers. Again, August loved it! It smelled incredible and the colors really were stunning. We just sat in there for a long time. It was so peaceful, it's amazing how much grace you can feel in Gods creation. If we had pillows I'm pretty sure we would have napped there. If you are in the Minneapolis area and are about to be pushed over the edge from the cold weather, go check it out.
Here are some pictures, I couldn't really get many of A because he was too busy taking in the sights!

About Me
- Elizabeth
- Ive always loved having family pictures taken. I love having those memories captured so that I can look back on them some day. In fact I have many photographer friends who Im always asking to take our pictures ;) Unfortunately they aren't around from day to day! My husband bought me a camera this year for Christmas and I am over-the-moon excited to have as many pictures of August and us as possible!
